CHURCH SERVICE EVERY SUNDAY 12.30PM
CCCS - EFKS Brimbank traces its humble beginnings to EFKS St Albans Parish, founded by Rev. Samani Sila and Vaimoana Sila in 2003. In 2004, they were officially welcomed by the late Rev Elder Urika Saifoloi into the Sub district and Victorian District Assembly.
The founders held a vision to bring the Congregational Christian Church of Samoa (EFKS) to the western suburbs of Brimbank, creating a spiritual haven for the Samoan community. Through the years, the church has grown into a vital cornerstone for many families, fostering a profound sense of unity and faith.
In 2016, the church embraced a new chapter, relocating to its current home on Cemetery Rd in Keilor. This move symbolised a pivotal step in their mission to serve and uplift the community.
Today, EFKS Brimbank continues to hold regular meetings and services in Keilor, remaining steadfast in nurturing the spiritual and cultural heritage of its members, while welcoming the broader community with open hearts.
For over two decades, EFKS Brimbank has shown unwavering commitment to community engagement within the Brimbank District. Through initiatives designed to forge meaningful connections, support local talent, and enhance overall well-being. The church has become a place of hope and a source of inspiration as they continue to celebrate the sacraments ordained by Jesus for his Church.
The Congregational Christian Church of Samoa (CCCS) began its journey in 1830 with the arrival of missionaries from the London Missionary Society, accompanied by dedicated teachers from Tahiti and the Cook Islands, as well as a devoted Samoan couple from Tonga. In just a few years, nearly all of Samoa embraced Christianity, igniting a deep and fervent passion for the gospel. This newfound zeal inspired many Samoans to volunteer for mission work abroad, with the first twelve missionaries setting out for Melanesia in 1839. Over the years, Samoan missionaries continued to spread Christianity across the Pacific, including regions such as Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, and the Solomon Islands, often making tremendous sacrifices, including their lives.
Since 1830 the church has been known by the name of the London Missionary Society or the Samoan Church (L.M.S.) until May 1961, when the General Assembly decided to change the name to what it is today.
Significant milestones in the church's history include the establishment of the first printing press in Samoa in 1839 and the translation of the entire Bible into Samoan by 1855. Malua Theological College, founded in 1844, was instrumental in educating local pastors, ensuring that each Samoan village had a theologically trained leader. The church's structure reflected the traditional Samoan village organization, with distinct roles for different community groups. The CCCS has always placed a strong emphasis on social transformation, maintaining several high schools and fostering ecumenical relationships around the world. Today, it operates as a transnational church with districts in the USA, Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and American Samoa.
